Hello guys!

It is a super busy week because I am searching hi and low on how to fill up forms for my US Visa application.

This is my very first trip to Las Vegas & San Francisco, USA so I am so excited (extremely lol) and yet feeling so newbie in applying for Visa. I used to ask my travel agent to fill up and apply Australia Visa for me but this time we have to do it ourselves. Sobs.

I have submitted my personal details for 2018/2019 Shaklee International Trip to Las Vegas & San Francisco last 2 weeks.

This is the form submitted to Shaklee to confirm my participation.

Now, I will show you all the step by step how I fill up my Visa application via online.

First, go to this website US Visa Application

Click Yes if this is your first time and I applied as a Nonimmigrant type of Visa.

Inside the website you need to read all the information as stated for Nonimmigrant Visa Application.

PAY THE US VISA FEES

You can either pay the Visa fees first or fill up your DS-160 form first but I choose to pay first because it takes 1 day for the payment to process.

Click on this tab Pay My Visa Fee and you will see all type of payment options available.

Here are the 3 options available;

  1. Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
  2. JomPAY
  3. Cash at Bank (AmBank)

And I choose JomPAY because it is the easiest option, personally for me =) I don’t really like to go to the bank to process Bank Draft because sometimes it takes super long just to prepare a Bank Draft.

This is the JomPAY option that I prefer.

I am choosing B type of Visa so my fees will be $160. Make sure you check your fees before you select JomPAY Deposit Slip.

NO REFUND IS ALLOWED IF YOU PAY THE WRONG FEES!!

This is my JomPAY Deposit Slip with the expiration date. So make sure you bank in before the expiration date or you will have to print a new deposit slip again.

Biller Code is always 5116 and the Ref-1 number is your unique code (14 digits)

You must remember and key in the exact same 14 digits of number as the Ref-1 during the online transfer.

Once you have paid, keep the transaction slip as a proof.

FILL UP THE DS-160 FORM

Now, this is the next step. Click on this tab Complete My DS-160. Read all the details carefully and Click on the word here and you will be directed to the DS-160 form.

Click the word “here”

Select your Location, enter the security code and Start and Application

The most important thing to jot down when you are filling up this DS-160 form is to remember your Application ID just in case you are logged out during the application process.

And don’t forget the answer to the security question that you have selected. Please don’t choose a super tough question that you might get confused with the answer LOL!

Shaklee actually emailed to us all the details to include in the form so I took just 20 minutes to fill up the online form.

Oh ya, another important thing is the photo attached.

You can take a nice studio photo but I just took a selfie against a white wall as background. The size and photo file size is given on the website.

This is the given dimension and size. No spectacles and blazer is allowed.

It’s a little bit hard to resize right? Don’t worry.

Here is the trick for you haha.

I am using Paint on my laptop to resize the photo to 600 pixel x 600 pixel

  1. Choose Paint on your laptop
  2. Select Resize
  3. Choose by Pixels and adjust accordingly
This is the Paint app that I am using. Can resize to your preferred pixels too!

And my photo passed on the first upload attempt! Easy peasy =)

On the last page, just double check all your details before you submit. Make sure all the details are accurate.

You can print this confirmation page with the barcode for your interview session at the Embassy later on.

SCHEDULE FOR APPOINTMENT

So after you have filled up the DS-160 form, now it’s time to schedule for the interview appointment. No walk in case will be accepted so plan well ya.

The most important thing for this step is to make sure you choose the right time for your appointment. Please plan accordingly so that you are not required to make another visa application fee if you reschedule more than the number of times allowed by the Embassy.

And don’t forget to check the Privacy Policy box. It’s too small there and sometimes I do forget as well LOL.

Mothers are such worldly creatures. No one could ever understand the ability of being a mother – if one is not a mother. Juggling more than the number of her hands, and sticking her neck out for all her loved ones. The last one to rest just to secure the fort, and the first one up to make sure everything is in order before her soldiers rise in the morning! A mother can weaken the knees of a strong big man. A mother can stop the storm in a daughter’s heart. After a long hard day at work or school, a mother’s warm hug can just make it all disappear. A mother is the one you’d call first about anything and everything. A mother just knows what to say or do to make things right.

Mother’s day is when people choose to celebrate their moms, to show her how grateful you are for her. But I do personally feel that mothers should be celebrated every single day. Show her your love her every day by helping her out with the house chores and not being a brat about it. Before you leave the house, kiss her goodbye and never ever forget to tell her how much you love her. Nonetheless, have you ever wondered the history of Mother’s day? Well everything has its origin, and its background story on how it first started. Lets read on together!

The wondrous celebration of mothers and motherhood can be traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans, who held festivals to honour the mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele. Though the clearest modern precedent for Mother’s day is the early Christian festival known as, “Mothering Sunday.”

It was once a major tradition in the UK and parts of Europe. This celebration fell on the fourth Sunday of Lent and was originally seen as a time when the faithful would return to their “mother church” – which is the main church in the comfort of their own home for a special service. Over time the Mothering Sunday tradition shifted into a more secular holiday, and children would present their mothers with flowers and other tokens of appreciation. This custom eventually faded in popularity before merging with the American Mother’s Day in the 1930s and 1940s.

Ann Reeves Jarvis

As for the in the United States, in the years before the Civil War, Ann Reeves Jarvis of West Virginia helped start “Mothers’ Day Work Clubs” to teach local women how to properly care for their children. The official Mother’s Day holiday arose in the 1900s as a result of the efforts of Anna Jarvis, daughter of Ann Reeves Jarvis. Following her mother’s 1905 death, Anna Jarvis conceived of Mother’s Day as a way of honoring the sacrifices mothers made for their children.

Dr Forrest C Shaklee

Dr Forrest C Shaklee

Dr Shaklee was determined to achieve these two things : Nature’s ability to heal, and his belief in Thoughtsmanship

Born in November 1894 in Carlisle, Iowa, Forrest C Shaklee was immediately diagnosed with tuberculosis. His parents were told that he won’t live past eight years. Dr Shaklee’s family believed that the best treatment for tuberculosis was good food, fresh air and lots of rest.

Most of Dr Shaklee’s childhood was spent on getting better. On bright sunny days, he could be found exploring and observing nature. As Dr Shaklee reach adolescents, his doctors were satisfied that the tuberculosis was arrested, but he was small in comparison to others his age.

The Palmer School of Chiropractic, Iowa founded in 1897

So his journey began, he exercised and studied the relationship between the health of the body, general vitality, intelligence and good nutrition. His philosophy became one of active, positive thinking. Bernarr MacFadden’s teaching was one of Dr Shaklee’s biggest influence – “drugs often mask the symptom, without curing the disease.” He knew then, from years of observing nature, that he wanted to treat people on a natural basis. Dr Shaklee was for most, interested in the growing science of chiropractic, so he enrolled in the Palmer School of Chiropractic where B.J Palmer was at the helm.

While Dr Shaklee was at Palmer, he saw many patients who were malnourished, as well as overfed. He believed that the one thing that could be contributing cause to this was poor nutrition. He vowed to always be conscious of the importance of diet in maintaining health.

As Shaklee began his new practice he became more interested in the field of nutrition, then in its infancy. He read everything he could and corresponded with biochemists and other scientists doing ground-breaking research in the field. In his search for the “life force” in food, Dr Shaklee produced the world’s first food supplement in 1915. He didn’t know what to call it. “Vitalized Minerals” is what he decided on and its present name is now “Liqui-Lea.” His colleague, Dr. Cashmere Funk, “discovered vitamins” soon after.

In early 1918, at age 24, Forrest moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa, and opened a HEALTH CENTER which served people for a 100 mile radius. The Health Center incorporated a 15 bed sanatorium and 32 treatment rooms. Forrest hired a staff of chiropractors, osteopaths, internists, general practitioners, and surgeons. FORREST was the Administrator.

Its 1917, and Dr Shaklee moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa and opened a facility that incorporated different fields of medicine. In addition to a 15-bed sanatorium, the offices contained 32 treatment rooms. He hired not only chiropractors but osteopaths, internists, general practitioners and surgeons. Shaklee kept his patients on vitamin-rich diets. The clinic soon became busy and prosperous. Other than to serve as administrator of his clinic, Dr Shaklee spent a great deal of time in the new field of X-ray diagnosis. The hazards of excessive exposure were not fully known at that time.

Tragedy strikes in 1921, Dr Shaklee was concerned about severe ulcerating burns on his left hip and left shoulder. Worried, Dr Shaklee consulted a cancer specialist who was practicing in Chicago, who was determined that it was in fact, cancer. The diagnosis finally came, and was confirmed by a Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

“I will live. I will heal,” he told his wife. “I know I can do it.” With no other choice, he bet his life on the healing power of nature. Within a few weeks he sold the clinic and began an intensive program of nutrition, continual blood analysis, and occasional fasting. He ate only the freshest fruits and vegetables and supplemented his diet with large quantities of vitamins and minerals. Initially, the ulcerated sores showed no signs of improvement. However, he was certain that his healing depended on his positive mental attitude, and on supplying his body with the proper nutrients.

By the end of 1922, the sores began to heal and were replaced with healthy tissue. He recovered his strength and energy. Dr Shaklee was alive, with all his limbs intact, which really contribute and support to his idea on nutrition  and the healing power of nature.  Healthy cells had defeated carcinogenic cells. He was also more certain than ever that good nutrition could help other people as well.

His second attempt in opening a clinic ended with tragedy as the clinic burned down to ashes, leaving nothing behind but an inspirational book by Elbert Hubbard called Little Journeys.

So once again, a year plus later, Dr Shaklee opened his clinic and formulated food supplements, packaged it and dispensed to patients. Disaster strikes again in 1929, Dr Shaklee’s clinic burned down and all records were gone. Everything was destroyed by the fire, except for an inspirational book by Elbert Hubbard called Little Journeys. One passage stood out from the book, and it was the one that motivates Dr Shaklee, it reads:

“When all else is destroyed, only the product of the mind exists.”

Previously received his Doctor of Divinity degree, and is ordained as a minister in the Church of Christ in Mason City, Iowa. Dr Shaklee’s sermon were widely attended, and Dr Shaklee was also involved in ground-breaking research leading, among other things, to the invention of a then-revolutionary form of synthetic rubber. His research activities led to contact with some of the great men of his day, including Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.

Despite his many interests, Shaklee decided to devote his efforts to nutritional research. He focused on building good health rather than treating sick patients. He moved his family to Eugene, Oregon and later to Oakland, California. In addition to ongoing research, Shaklee lectured to capacity crowds and gained two more degrees: Professor of Chiropractic and Doctor of Naturopathy. In 1935 he taught biochemistry at the California Chiropractic College.

In 1943, Dr. Shaklee retired from active practice and in 1945 began writing a series of articles on the mind’s influence on an individual’s health and well-being. His philosophy and lifelong belief was in the power of nature. Two years later he founded the Shaklee Foundation and had the name of his philosophy, “Thoughtsmanship,” copyrighted. He spent much time on the lecture circuit and in 1951 had four volumes on Thoughtsmanship published. The Commonwealth University in Los Angeles awarded him a Doctorate in Philosophy for these works. Many of his popular lectures were broadcast by radio stations in San Francisco and Oakland.

In the fall of 1955, Dr. Shaklee, age 62, told his two sons (Forrest Jr. and Lee) that he wanted to do something that would affect the public’s growing interest in nutrition. He wanted to start a business to distribute food supplements. On April 1, 1956, six months later, the Shaklee Corporation opened its doors. At the time, America believed itself to be the best fed nation in the world. Every potential customer would have to be educated before he would become a customer. Dr. Shaklee told his sons, “We’ll teach some and they’ll teach others.” The rest is history.

How To Achieve Anything

How to achieve anything and everything in life? Can someone get anything and everything their heart desires? Some go crazy thinking about being successful and be an achiever of something because it’s not easy, and crave for it but don’t know how to do it. Some feel it impossible due to constant rejection and get extremely demotivated. Then how do you get up and strive forward? It’s hard not to fall flat on your face because when you dream of something big, you gotta go hard or go home! So, here’s 10 tips to achieve your dreams – and something to get you started. Remember, this is just a guideline, the basics, all the hardwork has to come from you. How much do you want it – that is how much you have to work for it.

How committed are you in achieving your dream?

No. 1 Focus on your commitments, and not motivation, and you must have a plan! And because this is the key, it is broken down to 4 parts  – Devotion, seek your truth, set realistic goals, and substitute.

How badly do you want it? Your devotion to your dreams are the ultimate key to success. Devote you time, at least 15 minutes a day to plant the seed of change. Change it up and don’t be stuck doing the same thing because your body will be stuck and stagnant if you’re always doing the same old workout routine, and you’d end up being more miserable.

And don’t keep denying the truth. You want to be happy with your results? Then be real, be honest with yourself, if not, you’ll never be able to stick to your plan and keep your eyes on that goal. Behavior modification studies shows that human tend to repeat habits that makes us feel good. For example, if you want to healthy, you’d need to stop stuffing deliciously unhealthy junk down your throat – but instead eat a healthy and balanced diet. Let us be real, to have a healthy fit body, you will need to be true to yourself – this takes discipline and hard work. You will need to eat healthy and exercise 4-5 times a week! Your hot bod will not come by you eating junk and Netflix all day, right? So, same applies to your goals in life. The larger the payoff, the more you will need to work at it. Nothing great comes by easy, that is just it.

Set realistic goals. Baby steps. Don’t take it too many at a time, you will be overwhelmed with it. For example, if you have been a smoker for the last 20 years, stopping cold turkey might backfire and will not work well. Same goes to dieting, or eating healthy, don’t just stop eating to lose weight, but instead, cut down. Face it, good things doesn’t come easy. You won’t want an overnight success, you will need to work from the bottom and up, so you’re foundation is stronger, and much more stable. Build at it step by step, spend months developing a new pattern of behavior before adding in anything else into your plate – one behavior at a time to achieve greater results.

Slowly divert from bad habits. Baby steps!

This goes hand-in-hand with the “set realistic goals” part. Don’t eliminate, but instead replace. Let’s say, when you go to the movies, and want popcorn, and you’d always have the heavily buttered popcorn; instead of cutting or eliminating it out, go slow, choose the lightly buttered or not buttered at all. Baby steps. Don’t go cold turkey! If your goal includes eliminating a specific behaviour, it must be replaced with a new behaviour if you want permanent change. If we don’t substitute a behaviour, we end up creating a big void that leads to obsessive thinking, which eventually leads to falling back into old patterns.

No.2 Seek knowledge, not results.

Ben Carson, author of Think Big : Unleashing Your Potential for Excellence said that, and I quote, “I am convinced that knowledge is power – to overcome the past, to change our own situations, to fight new obstacles, to make better decisions.” But the key is reliable knowledge doesn’t come from looking for reasons to think that you are right, instead, seek knowledge from your mistakes! Redoing a mistake and learning from it will make it a much stronger idea, because challenges will only make it stronger.

No. 3 Make the journey fun

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Serious thing doesn’t have to be boring. You can make your journey enjoyable and fun. It’s an awesome game! The minute you make it serious, there’s a big chance it will start carrying a heavy emotional weight and you will lose perspective and become stuck again. If you’re not happy, you’re not successful. So, ENJOY the ride because success is a continuous journey – meet new people, and gain experiences through every day activity.

No.4 Avoid stagnating thoughts.

Our thoughts, no doubts, influences our feelings and feelings determine how you view your work. Undeniably, your mind is full of thoughts and you have full control on which ones you decide to focus on. There are two distinct kind of thoughts, 1) that will make you emotionally stuck, for example; fears and doubts, or the ones that will motivate you and move you further than you think you can; excitement, experimenting and courage to try new things, thus stepping out of your comfort zone. So, it is very important what you focus your mind on. If you have that problem, well then, here are ways to get out of it and continue your journey towards success.

The thought is like a river stream, it easy to get dragged down with it, but its okey, nonetheless, it will be quite distracting. Especially while you are on your way up to your goals.

Affirmation. Assertion, declaration, statement, proclamation, pronouncement, attestation, assurance.

Meditate to focus your mind on your goal. Say it out loud and declare it. Claim it as yours and move your spirit to go forward and keep you out of a rut. Our subconscious is the factory that generates many of our thoughts—positive and negative—and can be reprogrammed not only with strong emotion but also through repetition. Affirmations lodge new operating instructions into your subconscious the same way that listening to a song on repeat will leave it stuck in your head for days.

Visualization. Imagine.

Visualization works like affirmation. Just imagine yourself doing or having whatever you want – whether it is working your dream job, lounging in a beautiful living room in your new home, it also attracts healthy emotions. When you consistently visualize yourself reacting to challenges in a calm and passionate manner, you will eventually manifest this behaviour.

Morning meditation at least 5 minutes a day can help you achieve a positive state of mind, then you will start to see powerful changes.

No.5 Don’t rely on others. Anybody. But do get support.

You must do this on your own. Not by relying on others – not your husband, wife, boss, partner, friends, N to the O, No! They might have their own goals to achieve and they will be too busy for you. Besides, it will feel much greater when you do it on your own! You’d be much prouder. But do surround yourself with people who support and give you functional criticism. Through this time of your life, you NEED to surround yourself with positive people. We don’t need people with negative vibes, they will just crush your dreams. It will set you back 10 squares!

Plan wisely, be committed to your goals, be devoted to it like you are to your Korean series, always be honest with yourself – don’t cheat on yourself, make mistakes and learn from it, have fun throughout your journey, avoid negative thoughts, claim your success, never ever do it for others, and don’t rely on others to get what you want and most importantly, get your support group, moral support heals the soul and grows it. All the best!
